Celsense Products - Gene Sense
Gene Sense is a unique DNA-based reporter construct that “programs” cells to express their own contrast agent. Distributed in a novel plasmid containing a Neo/Kan cassette, CMV promoter, FLAG linker, and multiple cloning sites, Gene Sense can be used to label cells in vitro, or ligated to genes of interest to image vector delivery in vivo. This enabling technology offers unprecedented non-invasive imaging of gene expression in vivo, and can also be used for long-term MRI cell labeling. When the Gene Sense reporter is delivered to cells via off-the-shelf technologies, the cells produce an MRI contrast agent from endogenous molecules. This technology may be useful in visualizing the delivery of cellular and gene therapeutics, in imaging transgenic animal models, and in pharmacological profiling of drug candidates.
